I used Claude Code to bring WCopyfind up-to-date in various ways and to fix a couple of long-standing bugs. I also had Claude put WCopyfind on a GitHub repository, although I haven’t had the nerve to make that repository public yet.
The new version of WCopyfind is current version 5.0.0 and it is available to anyone as an executable file at WCopyfind 5.0.0.
I haven’t fully tested it yet, so if you find bugs, please email me at my University of Virginia email address, which you can find online at the UVA people search.

The link here and on the main listings page for the executable throws a 404 File Not Found. I understand your hesitance, as Claude can do great stuff and also make a bit mess 😉 I’d love to play with the executable, if possible, and am of course interested in the source code.
My bad. I didn’t finish setting up the github access, since I’m new to github and was letting Claude Code do everything. Now I’ve asked Claude Code to walk me through releasing the executible properly and I’ll probably release the source code soon as well. I’m so impressed at what Claude can do that I may never write another line of code myself — after 50 years of learning (and subsequently forgetting) languages and systems, I don’t really need to do it anymore.
I have just released WCopyfind 5.0.0 on GitHub, so it should be open season for people to execute the executable or to play with the source code. I hope that people will improve it or make interesting variations on it.
